There is growing literature on the effect of environmental payments, including the support
of Agri-Environment Climate Scheme. However, the results of these studies have been rather inconclusive. In addition to inconclusive results, the research on the Central European countries is still very limited. The research addresses three main research and policy evaluation gaps in thel iterature regarding the sustainability – economic, social, and environmental – motives for adoption and impacts of Agri-Environment Climate Scheme.
