Over a five-year period, the project will investigate why some countries have subpar management practices and will provide actionable insights for policymakers. Using data spanning four decades from Hungary and Germany, the research will examine who becomes top managers, their career trajectories across firms, regions, and countries, and the impact of this mobility on business performance and economic development.
In partnership with CEU and the HUN-REN Centre for Economic and Regional Studies, the project will also develop new data collection methods and analytical tools for studying managerial mobility patterns.
