Mitigating climate change and managing its effects poses a complex problem for our society, which can be examined experimentally with the help of so-called climate games. The key question of climate play and other social dilemmas is the extent to which participants cooperate or compete with each other. In our project, we undertake to examine simultaneously the changes in the ability to cooperate during development, the characteristics related to cooperation within families, and the personality traits of groups successfully managing climate games. We use questionnaire surveys and experimental methods to examine the personalities of children and their parents, as well as their behavior in the division and climate games. Research targeting parents and their children in parallel will help identify the role of the home environment in climate change and collaboration skills. Ultimately, we can propose communication strategies and campaigns to increase public support for measures aimed at reducing the negative effects of climate change.
